THree Sisters TRAIL (Quaker Mountain)The trails in the Three Sisters Preserve are smooth and flowy with berms, rollers and optional jumps. Both Three Sisters Trail and Town Connector Trail are beginner friendly, but fun for everyone - for real.
From Three Sisters Trail, take Town Connector Trail to connect to the Wilmington Bike park and grab a snack at the Little Supermarket while you're at it. |
Trail Beta
Riders can access the Three Sisters Trail from Hardy Road for an easy-grade, friendly climb. On your way up, scope out the berms and optional jumps for the cruise back down. Gain just under 300 feet on the 1.2 mile pedal to the top, or peel off onto Town Connector Trail about .8 miles up to connect to the Wilmington Bike Park and an additional parking area and jump-off point. This is a green that everyone enjoys - we promise.
Hit the Wilmington Bike Park to test your skills on the pump track, dirt jumps, and the skills park with jumps, rollers, seesaws and berms. The park was designed and initiated by two local youth (Charlie Wilson and Henry Loher). After three phases of upgrades and additions the park is a town staple for the youth and the young at heart.

Directions
Three Sisters Preserve can be accessed via trailheads at Quaker Mountain Road, Hardy Road or The Wilmington Youth Park (directly behind the Little Supermarket Grocery Store on Route 86). If accessing from Hardy Road (Beaver Brook) bike further down the road a mile or two past Deep Woods lane until, on the left, you see a large cairn and a small parking area. Another very small parking/turnaround lot is available at the top of this trail on Quaker Mountain road.
There is also parking at the Wilmington Youth Park on Park Rd (off of Springfield Rd). Visiting riders who are prepared for a slightly longer ride are advised to use this parking area due to the limited space at the Hardy Road trailhead and the need to limit vehicle traffic on a quiet residential road.
Please note that portions of Town Connector Trail use Outlook Lane, a paved town road. Watch carefully for signage and please leash dogs and respect private property.

The Three Sisters Preserve in the town of Wilmington hosts the Three Sisters Trail, a key link for mountain bikers, connecting Wilmington’s downtown to the popular Hardy Road mountain biking trails. The preserve was established by the Avery family and Lake Placid Land Conservancy in 2017 before coming into the Adirondack Land Trust’s portfolio in 2023. The trail system here is maintained by BETA.
