BETA Trail Crew: Since 2017, our professional trail crew staff have provided the skilled project planning, leadership and muscle required for building and maintaining high-quality trails along with leveraging the efforts of a large and committed volunteer force. Each summer, the Trail Crew implements priority projects identified in the annual BETA trails plan, constructing new trails and repairing existing trails across public and private lands in several communities. BETA Trail Crew works together in small groups, led by an experienced trail crew leader. Work projects are located in a mix of front country town parks and remote backcountry areas, and are completed mostly with non-motorized hand tools. Trail Crew staff also help train and lead volunteers, which improves the efficiency of our major trail projects. Volunteers also get a greater return for their investment of time and energy and a richer experience onthe trail project, which makes them more likely to return.
